5th Quarter Youth Event in Hardin County

Wings Support and Recovery Received a Grant from OMHAS and contracted with PASS to host a 5th Quarter Youth Event after the last Home football game in Kenton. We had 70 students attend the event. We shared Substance-use and Mental Health Myths/Facts, the Gatekeepers groups from both Kenton MS and Kenton HS were involved with getting the word out about the event, making signs to display at the event and helped throw t-shirts and flyers at the football game. This event gave students a safe and fun place to be after the game that kept them from being out drinking or using other substances.

The event was held Friday October 20th from 8:30-11:30pm at the Varsity Venue in Kenton and all Hardin County schools were invited to participate. Students received door prize tickets for attending and had the opportunity to get more tickets by bringing canned goods or personal care items to donate. We had lots of fun things for them to do: a DJ, open play on all the arcade games, a photo booth, food and prizes. It was a great event!
